I have most of my photos on Flickr under a Creative Commons license, which means that I give permission for anyone to copy, distribute, perform, or use my work, so long as they give me credit. I figure that since I’m not selling my pictures, or making any money on them in any way, I might as well let other people use them. At least they will get seen by someone.
I was surprised to see an email from my friend Kelsey from grad school yesterday telling me that she was reading an article on treehugger.com, and she saw that the photographer credit listed my name! The author used my picture of bananas for her article Latin American Banana Farmers Sue Over Pesticides. How cool is that? And I would have never known if Kelsey hadn’t randomly come across it.
Crazy.

Doesn’t that make you wonder just how many more of your shots are out there advetising causes, products, places, etc.?
