Huong Viet at Eden Center

My mom is in town for a few days (not really to visit but to help my uncle and cousin while my aunt is in the hospital recovering from brain surgery [!!!]). I dropped her off at my uncle’s house this afternoon, but before we parted Larry and I took her to Eden Center for lunch. Eden Center is a strip mall in Northern Virginia, not far from the beltway, that is entirely Vietnamese. Stores, restaurants, salons, you name it. It’s always very crowded–I suggest just forgoing the endless search for a parking spot and just park clear on the other side of the strip mall. Your car is probably less likely to get dinged this way.

We went to Huong Viet, a fabulous Vietnamese restaurant that Michaela introduced us to–thank you Michaela! We love this place. And–big bonus points–it’s Washingtonian’s Top 100 restaurant list. Super cheap and super delicious.

We ate garden rolls and pho. So delicious. Although, I’m thinking next time that I might branch out and try something else. But the pho is just so good…

Pho!

Delicious Pho.

Garden Rolls

Yummy garden rolls.

heh. I’m glad you love it so much. I really miss eating pho up here, though I ate at my share of good eats this past weekend. See why I never branched out from my noodle soup? It’s so good, why mess with a good thing? :o)

This weekend I’m going to Montreal, finally! I plan to finally eat the duck in a can. I’m not a huge fan of duck or foie gras (I don’t think I’ve even had it before), but when in Quebec….

Wish you guys could be there.

Next scavenger hunt item: you must find and try a local cider donut. SOOO good :o).
